Why have so many gentiles hated, loathed, despised, and tried to eliminate the Jews who have lived in their midst throughout history?
The answer is simple: It's because they would have been better off if the Jews were gone. That's all there is to it.
This does not make it the least bit moral, but very effective. Simple evolution in action.
Once a competing group has been removed, more resources become available for the surviving group. The survivors' prospects improve when people in overpopulated areas pass away. Famine is another genetic tool.
The obvious downside is that many relatives also die, reducing the evolutionary advantage. This problem can be solved by eliminating a genetically different group: Jews, Tutsis, Bosnian Muslims or South-Sudanese Christians, whatever.
Unlike one's own group, other groups use up resources, but they don't appear to contribute anything to one's posterity. Even if they do contribute, they may make other groups feel inferior and threatened.
Antisemitism didn't happen because the Jews were more evil than others. If anything, the opposite?
It's true that Jews have been well represented in well-paying fields that require expensive diplomas.
This has caused much anger in recent times, because these fields have enjoyed many monopolistic advantages. It was definitely unfair.
However, these laws could easily have been changed to remove such unfair advantages. In fact they should be changed, although they won't be.
Normal people consistently choose to ignore the immense power they themselves hold, the almost unstoppable power that comes from being part of the majority.
The simple truth is that the anti-Semites never wanted to change such laws. They just want to follow their instincts.
In human affairs as in human evolution, the real reason for conflict is that there is no reason.
